Q: Must I find an internship job only in the field related to my major or is any job O.K.?

A: We recommend you to find internship jobs into the concerned field of your study program as internships are meant for international exposure and practical experience.

Q: Do I have to work overtime? Can I keep the overtime bonus?

A: No.

Q: What if I can't find employment?

A: You can find a part time work till you find your internship job into your profile.

Q: Will I have to pay taxes?

A: Yes.

Q: Is there a way for me to work before actually starting to attend classes in order for me to save more money and add it to my current savings?

A: No as you will be flying only before 3 or 4 days of your intake date.

Q: Could the work authorization be possibly converted into a full time work permit upon completion of the masters program?

A: Yes, once you complete you Bachelors or Masters Program you are entitled for 1years post study work visa where you can work full time.

Q: How much is the bank statement required for applying VISA?

A: Proof of financial ability (showing the total amount of more than SG$30,000) in the form of bank statements.

Q: How long I have to keep amount in my bank account for VISA?

A: Minimum 1 days old bank statement should be provided for the visa interview.

Q: How much tuition fee I have to pay before and after getting VISA/Offer letter?

A: 1st year fees has to be paid before visa.

Q: Can one apply for Dependent VISA?

A: Yes. Preferably Dependents are allowed to fly only after 3 months.

Q: How can apply as a dependent VISA?

A: You will require showing additional fund in the bank which supports their living expenses.

Q: What is required in order to bring my spouse and family?

A: You will need to produce the documents needed to show your spouse’s or civil partner's status and evidence of your marital or civil partner status (for example, birth or naturalization certificate of Irish spouse, marriage or civil registration certificate), and also you require additional funds to support living Expenses.

A: Yes, student who has completed his Bachelors or Masters program are entitled for 6 Month work permit after the study program if it’s a 1yr program and if its 2yrs program 1yr study and 1yr work permit is given.

A: The time to search job is included in 2yrs work permit.

Q: Is there an Application fee to apply to Singapore institution?

A: Yes, some of the Singapore institutions do have an application fees and some don’t. We will give you all details – amount of the application fee for each Institute. In some cases you can avail the application fee waivers which are available with us.

Q: Do I need to know a foreign language to study abroad?

A: English is the Official Language so communication is no problem. All courses are taught in English.

Q: What kind of accommodation will I be able to get while studying in Singapore?

A: There are 3 types of accommodation available in Singapore. On campus or off campus college hostel, private hostels, shared flat or house with other students, paying guest/ home stay accommodation. We will assist you with all of the above.

Q: Can I apply now even though I haven’t finished my studies (Class 12 or Bachelors)?

A: Yes, you can apply up to 1 year in advance. Some course & universities are very, very competitive and you have to apply 3-6 months in advance. You would need to submit your current study details and you can obtain a provisional/ conditional admission offer letter. This will become a full offer when you submit your course completion details. Early admissions give you time to organize any compulsory exam like IELTS/SAT/GMAT etc required by that university. It also allows you to get your documentation, finances, passport, visa requirements etc in order by the time you complete your Class 12 or Bachelors.

Q: Can I work part time while studying in Singapore?

A: No, students studying in private institutes are not allowed to work part-time during the studies. But you do have a option to take the paid internship while doing your course. Internships after the main course is also available in Singapore.

Q: Do I need to give IELTS to apply in Singapore? What are the English Proficiency requirements?

A: No, IELTS is not compulsory in Singapore. Some institutions need a letter of instruction from your education institute to know if your last qualification was in English or not. If you have done CBSE, ISC, IB your English score will suffice. Note: Certain foreign University collaboration may ask for IELTS or TOEFL.

Q: Can I get an education loan?

A: Yes, every student can apply for an education loan. Banks and private companies give up to 90% funding for education abroad by meeting their criteria. The interest rate for education loans is lower. The repayments generally start 6 months after completion of the course. We will give you all the details.
